30 best NFL players to win a Super Bowl with 2 or more teams: 6. Herb Adderley

Stats:

  • 48 INTs

If there was one thing Herb Adderley knew how to do, it was win.

Success almost never comes early for NFL players. The game is so much faster and physical when compared to college ball so adjustments must be made. But in the case of Adderley, nothing about the NFL appeared to be arduous for him. Back-to-back titles were already in his possession by the time his first two years with the Green Bay Packers wrapped up.

In the mid-1960s, Adderley went on another title run, this time winning three straight. While the Packers were picking up championships, it wasn’t as if Adderley was an innocent bystander. He was a five-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro selection. Once winning titles wasn’t the norm in Green Bay anymore, Adderley packed up his bags and headed to Dallas to join the Cowboys where he would help them win a ring as well. His 1,046 career interception yards are still good for 9th on the all-time list and his seven pick-sixes are good for seventh in NFL history.

When things got tight, Adderley always showed out, case in point would be his five career interceptions in the postseason which rank fifth all time. His induction into the Hall of Fame was well deserved.
