30 best NFL players to win a Super Bowl with 2 or more teams: 5. Shannon Sharpe

Stats:

  • 10,060 receiving yards
  • 815 receptions
  • 62 TDs

The tight end position is impossible to discuss without bringing up Shannon Sharpe. He may have been questioned coming into the league due to the lack of notoriety he had coming out of Savannah State but once he got going, those doubts quickly went away.

Sharpe was a beast on the Denver Broncos. Luckily for him, he had one of the best quarterbacks of all time throwing him the ball in Dan Marino. In his third year, Sharpe was already a Pro Bowler and by year four, he made his first All-Pro squad. He racked up three thousand-yard seasons in four years and really should’ve been four out of five had he not come up five yards short in 1993.

By the time Sharpe hit his prime, the Broncos turned into true title contenders and he took home back-to-back Super Bowl titles in the late 1990s.

At one point, Sharpe could give it to defenders all night long. But by the time he arrived in Baltimore, he was forced to change. That’s when “Big Play Shey” was born. Seemingly once a game, Sharpe would take the top right off the defense. Ultimately, he helped Baltimore win a title in 2000 before wrapping up his career three years later. He wasn’t quite Rob Gronkowski or Tony Gonzalez but he wasn’t that far off either.
