30 best NFL players to win a Super Bowl with 2 or more teams: 3. Deion Sanders

Stats:

  • 53 interceptions
  • 512 tackles

Deion Sanders was cocky as hell and he didn’t care who knew it. But, truth be told, who could blame him?

The number of players who were good enough to shut down an entire side of the field is incredibly small. Yet, Sanders was amongst them. Whomever he was guarding was in for a bad night.

It didn’t take long for him to be mentioned amongst the best defensive backs in the game. By year three, Sanders was a Pro Bowler. In year four he was an All-Pro and by year five, no one was better. Six and seven interceptions a year were the norm and the accolades that came along with it weren’t shabby. Sanders was an eight-time Pro Bowler, former Defensive Player of the Year and two-time Super Champ, bringing home the title in back-to-back years with different squads.

Sanders truly showed his worth when the lights were brightest. In his first and only year with the San Francisco 49ers in 1994, Sanders pushed them over the championship hump. He would do the same the following year, this time as a member of the Dallas Cowboys.

Although he hasn’t officially suited up in close to a decade, plenty of his records are still near the top of the leaderboards. His 53 touchdowns rank 24th all-time and his 1,331 interception yards are still good for third. He was nicknamed “Primetime” for a reason. Once he was on you, good luck.
