2. Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Tyreek Hill

When a team is as loaded as the Kansas City Chiefs are, they can afford to take some fliers with their first-round picks. In 2021, they traded theirs away for Orlando Brown, Jr. who will be the left tackle of the future. In 2020, they added running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire from LSU.

Edwards-Helaire was a bit of a surprise pick at first since players such as D’Andre Swift or maybe even J.K. Dobbins were seen as more complete backs — and running backs, in general, aren’t always seen as solid selections in the opening round.

However, Edwards-Helaire proved to be a perfect fit for the Chiefs’ offense. He had 803 yards and four touchdowns while missing three games but is capable of even more in 2021 and has been working to become a better weapon in the passing game.

Speaking of the passing game, there’s arguably no better deep threat right now in the entire NFL than Tyreek Hill. He had 15 touchdowns and 1,276 yards last year and was a player who everyone knew could score at any second — no matter where the Chiefs were on the field.

Of course, the key piece to the entire Kansas City offense is quarterback Patrick Mahomes. You can tell a player is great when they sign a 10-year, $500 million extension and it’s considered a great deal for the team. Already with an NFL MVP and Super Bowl ring under his belt, Mahomes has become the face of the league.

The guy is good for a couple of circus throws every week and it’s hard to even find a flaw in his game.
