Dallas Cowboys roster predictions: Wide Receiver (5)

Amari Cooper
CeeDee Lamb
Michael Gallup
Cedrick Wilson
Simi Fehoko

Easily the deepest position on the roster, the Dallas Cowboys are stacked at wide receiver. There’s no touching the top three with Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, and CeeDee Lamb locked into those roles.

Both Cooper and Gallup have put up 1,000-yards in a season. Gallup did so in 2019 but saw his numbers dip in 2020 without Prescott. He still had 843 yards on 59 receptions which was respectable — but he should be better with No. 4 back.

Cooper continued to show his consistency as he had 1,114 yards on 92 receptions meaning he has hit the 1,000-yard mark in five of his six NFL seasons.

Lamb also stood out as a rookie, pulling in 74 passes for 935 yards and five touchdowns. There’s an expectation that he can be even better in his second season, meaning they could have three guys crossing the quadruple-digit mark in yardage.

After that, things get tough. Cedrick Wilson has had some big moments and should edge out Noah Brown for the fourth spot but if that happens, it could lead to Brown being off the roster. That’s because he would then need to show enough for them to give up on rookie Simi Fehoko, which is unlikely. The Stanford product is an intriguing prospect with a lot of talent.

Perhaps they go with six receivers, which would help Brown make the roster, but it’s hard to see where they go thin (although running back is a spot to monitor for that possibility).
