The San Francisco 49ers revitalized the roster through the draft and, looking at their 2021 schedule, fans should be circling these three games.

The San Francisco 49ers locker room should be eager to get on the field for the 2021 season. Last year, they were hit with one injury after another that put them at a disadvantage.  Yes, the NFL has a next-man-up motto but the 49ers just couldn’t catch a break. Notably while dealing with those injuries, San Franciso played the fourth-toughest strength of schedule last year. That was a recipe for disaster.

General manager John Lynch managed to re-sign some key players from last season and added some new faces in free agency as well. Of course, the franchise also drafted future MVP Trey Lance third overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. Conversely, San Francisco may regret passing on a receiver in the draft.

With a roster that’s now healthy again but also has upgraded the talent level, the 2021 season is one fans should be excited for. But looking at their schedule, San Francisco 49ers fans need to make sure they’re tuned into these three games in particular.

3. San Francisco 49ers vs. Green Bay Packers (Week 3)

This is the first out of the five primetime games San Franciso will be featured in. It will also be the fourth time they have faced Green Bay in the last three seasons. When they faced off in 2020, though, the 49ers had none of their top receivers active and were without Jimmy Garoppolo and Trent Williams.

Subsequently, it wasn’t surprising that the Nick Mullens-led offense couldn’t muster up enough points to compete against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. As we look to the matchup in the 2021 season, though, the Rodgers drama hangs over Green Bay. Though he has skipped offseason workouts to this point, there is a belief among some that he will show up to training camp eventually and start in the 2021 season.

Nevertheless, the Week 3 contest will look completely different than last year’s, primarily for the revamped 49ers. In their previous three matchups, the Packers and 49ers have combined to score 50 points in every one. So in a matchup between potential Super Bowl contenders out of the NFC, this should be a phenomenal matchup in the Bay Area that fans will be sure to tune in for.
