10 players who belong in Dallas Cowboys Hall of Shame

2. Roy Williams, Wide Receiver
For a couple of seasons, the Cowboys flirted with the addition of adding former Texas star wideout Roy Williams. A first-round pick of the Detroit Lions in 2004, Williams had developed into a star receiver who had 1,310 yards and seven touchdowns in 2006 which earned him his first trip to the Pro Bowl.
Detroit still elected to use the No. 2 overall pick the following season on Calvin Johnson, who ended up becoming the best receiver the team ever had — and probably the best in the game for a couple of seasons during his prime.
With Johnson there, the Lions were looking to move Williams before paying him big money and they found their Huckleberry in Jerry Jones. The gambling team owner didn’t learn from overpaying for Joey Galloway and ended up making a similar deal giving up a first, third, and sixth-round pick for Williams.
Dallas then signed him to a massive six-year, $54 million deal. In his first season with the Cowboys, he had 19 catches for 198 yards and a touchdown. His low output was chalked up to him changing teams but then he was just as bad the following two seasons.
In 2009, he caught just 38 of 86 targets for 596 yards and while he had seven touchdowns, it took a ton of targets to get the production he had. In 2010, he has just 37 catches for 530 yards and five touchdowns, which was his last season in Dallas.
