10 NFL players who will be a letdown in 2021

5. Jarvis Landry, WR, Cleveland Browns
Jarvis Landry is constantly credited with being the player who completely changed the culture for the Cleveland Browns. This belief is traced back to the 2018 offseason when he first joined the team and then gave a speech about playing through pain on ‘Hard Knocks’.
While he has been a vocal leader and does deserve a lot of credit, the truth is putting all the credit on him is very short-sighted. To be blunt, Cleveland was still a mess in both 2018 and 2019 and while they recovered from their 0-16 season in 2017, they still had not actually had a winning season.
That changed in 2020 when Andrew Berry and Kevin Stefanski took over. All of that is being said to point out that some fans in Cleveland are glossing over the fact that Landry saw a huge decline in production this past season.
In 15 games, he had 72 receptions for 840 yards and three touchdowns. All those numbers are the least he put up in Cleveland and the receptions and touchdown totals were career-lows.
Part of the problem was health but another issue is his fit in the team. Landry doesn’t stretch the field much and really operates in the same way a tight end does, and Cleveland has three really good ones. They also have Odell Beckham, Jr. coming back, expect a leap from Donovan Peoples-Jones, and added Anthony Schwartz in the draft.
Landry has been a solid teammate in Cleveland but expecting him to get back to 1,000-yards in this offense doesn’t seem reasonable.
