Fantasy Football Mock Draft: Round 2

  • 2.01: Stefon Diggs
  • 2.02: Aaron Jones
  • 2.03: Austin Ekeler

This is a tad low for Ekeler according to ADP but I’m surprised that he ended up this high for me in this mock draft. I knocked him a bit earlier in the offseason, saying:

"Ekeler profiles as a top 15 guy to me, I feel that he is someone who is going to disappoint rather than surprise. The RB position is deep this year, don’t get fooled into missing out on elite guys."

His ADP combined with a potential committee approach to the Chargers backfield leaves something on the table that makes me a bit uncomfortable taking him as high as other players in this range.

  • 2.04: DeAndre Hopkins
  • 2.05: Najee Harris
  • 2.06: Joe Mixon
  • 2.07: Darren Waller
  • 2.08: Justin Jefferson
  • 2.09: DK Metcalf
  • 2.10: Miles Sanders

Projected in ADP to go at the end of the third round, Miles Sanders is the best runner in Philly and it isn’t close. People seem to have forgotten that injuries really derailed what was shaping up to be a stellar campaign. A home-run threat waiting to happen, Sanders should be going in the second round.

He will more than likely finish in the top 10 at his position and has a better chance of doing so than guys like Ekeler. This guy averaged over 5.0 yardsper carry behind an offensive line that was completely decimated by injuries. Getting the line back to healthy is going to create holes and Sanders does something amazing with holes: He hits them!

Bank on him being a stud of RB2 and, if he is your RB1, you should still be fine.

  • 2.11: Calvin Ridley
  • 2.12: A.J. Brown

The former teammate of Julio Jones followed by the new teammate of Julio Jones to finish off the second round. How nice.
