Fantasy Football Mock Draft: Round 3

  • 3.01: George Kittle
  • 3.02: Terry McLaurin
  • 3.03: David Montgomery
  • 3.04: Chris Godwin

My favorite player for reasons I cannot seem to understand, Chris Godwin is just fun to watch play the receiver position. His intermediate route running is going to separate him this year and, while injuries robbed us of what he could have done last year, another offseason with TB12 can only help.

Godwin is ready to once again be a WR1 this season. He probably won’t replicate the year he ended as the No. 2 fantasy scorer at the position but top-12 seems very reasonable. That’s why I’m well ahead of his 4.05 ADP

  • 3.05: D’Andre Swift

Swift’s talent is undeniable but the talent and coaching in Detroit are extremely concerning for fantasy managers. The coaching staff is high on Jamaal Williams and has talked about riding the hot hand in the backfield.

The second-year back is so talented and his ADP (3.08) has that upside baked into it. He’s a possible top-10 running back if things break his way. But Swift is also at risk of not even cracking the top 15 at the position given his situation.

  • 3.06: Allen Robinson
  • 3.07: Chris Carson
  • 3.08: Keenan Allen
  • 3.09: J.K. Dobbins

Dobbins is a victim of being part of a committee for the most part, which is why I’m well below his 3.01 ADP. The other huge problem with him is that he isn’t the best runner on his team; that honor belongs to Lamar Jackson.

Given that the Ravens want to throw more and the crowded backfield, that’s not great for Dobbins. If he falls into the late third round, take him there. But the end of the second or early third where guys like Justin Jefferson, Keenan Allen, and Darren Waller are going? That’s too pricey for a guy who doesn’t know what his role will be week to week.

  • 3.10: Diontae Johnson

Had I been writing for the FanSided Network last season, you would’ve seen me screaming that Johnson was going to be a stud in fantasy football. Alas, I wasn’t and now I’m another writer who is touting the young Steelers wide receiver.

The drop issues don’t scare me and neither does the size. If he avoids injury, he’s going to be a stud. Legitimately, his upside could be that of a player who is the WR1 overall for the 2021 season. Now, it’s hard to justify taking him in the first round because upside isn’t floor but the end of the third round is where he’s a steal — and that’s still miles ahead of his ADP (5.09).

Two former first-round real-life picks finish off this fantasy football mock draft, at least the first three rounds of it.
