One bold prediction for the Los Angeles Rams in 2021-22: Worst in their division

You could make the argument that the Los Angeles Rams made the most impactful move of the off-season. It was also one that no one saw coming.

After being forced to deal with Jared Goff and his propensity to shrink during the big moments, the Rams decided it was time to make a move. Goff was sent off into the sunset to join the Detroit Lions and in return, the Rams got their hands on Matthew Stafford.

On its face, it looks like a huge win for the Rams. Stafford has always put up eye-popping numbers for a horrific Lions team. He’s been amongst the top ten in terms of total yards thrown during a season seven times and cracked the top five four times. But for as good as Stafford has been, he isn’t going to lead the Rams to the postseason. In fact, we expect them to finish dead last in the NFC West.

Stafford would be the last quarterback coming off the board if we juxtaposed him to Kyler Murray, Russell Wilson and yes, even Jimmy Garoppolo.

Look, for as gaudy as Stafford has been, the Lions only made the playoffs on three occasions and he’s failed to win a single game. Also, keep in mind that Stafford had one of the greatest wide receivers of all time for nearly a decade in Calvin Johnson. So we’re supposed to believe that he’ll be better now that his number one receiver is Cooper Kupp? Expect the Rams to finish at the bottom of the NFC West barrel.
