One bold prediction for the Miami Dolphins in 2021-22: They come back down to earth

At first glance, the title of this one wouldn’t appear to be too bold. Considering that since 2006, the Miami Dolphins have only been able to produce a winning record three times, fans of this franchise have grown accustomed to their teams stinking up the joint. With that said, they appeared to turn a corner this past season.

They finished 10-6 on the year and have a lot to look forward to. Tua Tagovailoa looked promising, DeVante Parker almost registered a thousand yard season and their defense, led by Pro Bowler/All-Pro Xavien Howard, is only going to get better. But while Dolphins are now wearing shades due to their bright future, they should remove them and pull out their umbrellas.

The Dolphins aren’t going to be very good next season. While Parker did manage to put up over 700 receiving yards, in today’s day and age, that’s actually a pretty horrendous number. Also, the franchise never believed in Tagovailoa and we have a hard time believing they will now.

At various points during this past season, Tagovailoa was removed whenever he would struggle. He would then be replaced by Ryan Fitzpatrick instead of allowing the young QB to work through his problems.

All signs might be pointing to Tagovailoa and the Dolphins taking the next step, but we actually believe they’re going to fall pretty hard on their faces next season.
