One bold prediction for the New York Jets in 2021-22: Finish second in the AFC East

Fans of the New York Jets are bracing themselves for the worst. It’s for good reason. As the moribund franchise takes a look around, they’ll notice that everyone has gotten better.

The New England Patriots finally opened up their wallets for a change and brought in several high-quality players and the Miami Dolphins as well as the Buffalo Bills will be counting on continuity and a stacked roster to take the next steps.

The Jets though, will be relying heavily on rookie quarterback, Zach Wilson. While we don’t believe they’ll win the division, we’re placing a ton of confidence in them to have the second-best record in the AFC East. While we fully understand that what athletes have done in college hasn’t exactly translated to the pros but in all fairness, Wilson has been compared to Aaron Rodgers. When we take a look at their numbers, it’s Wilson all day every day.

Rodgers threw for 2,566 yards, 24 touchdowns and only eight interceptions while completing 66.1% of his passes during his time in college. Wilson though, was another level. The former BYU standout threw for 3,692 yards, 33 touchdowns, only three interceptions and completed an outrageous 73.5% of his passes.

Seemingly every year we have a new set of rookie QBs who take the league by storm. From Baker Mayfield to most recently, Justin Herbert. Wilson will follow in their footsteps. That, in turn, will lead to the second most wins in the AFC East.
