One bold prediction for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2021-22: Competitive losers

The cupboard is pretty bare for the Philadelphia Eagles. After looking like a dynasty in the making just a few seasons ago after winning the Super Bowl, the franchise is in full rebuild mode.

Carson Wentz is out the door and so is hometown favorite, Nick Foles. In addition to those quarterbacks finding new homes, receiver Nelson Agholor has also decided to play elsewhere. It was difficult to find a bold silver lining for this team but once we took a close look at the numbers, we discovered something interesting.

Once quarterback Jalen Hurts took over as the full-time starter, he may have led them to only one win but of the four games he started, he kept two out of three within one score. In total, eight of the games in which they failed to secure the win were determined by one score and a single point on two occasions.

Don’t sleep on Hurts, he threw for over a thousand yards in four games and also rushed for 354 yards, if we stretched those numbers over the course of a full 17 game schedule, he’ll resemble Lamar Jackson. If Hurts is given the reigns to the team all season long, he’ll rack up over 4,000 yards and 1,000 rushing yards. We don’t believe his individual success will lead to many victories but the Eagles won’t get blown out either.
