Jamin Davis and Benjamin St-Juste are welcome additions to Washington

The Washington Football Team had an exciting draft in 2021. Two of their biggest additions were linebacker Jamin Davis (first round) and cornerback Benjamin St-Juste (third round). Neither have a completely defined role yet, but that’s to be expected. This was just their first preseason game, so everyone is still trying to figure everything out.

Davis looks like fun. He’s fast, strong, and will definitely make a lot of plays. They had him running with the second team as well, but that seemed to be so he could be the one making the calls on the field. Give him a chance to practice being the leader out there. In the regular season, we’ll probably see a lot more of Davis than just a few plays in a backup role.

St-Juste is a different story though. Washington has a star cornerback in Kendall Fuller and William Jackson III was a phenomenal and oddly overlooked signing this offseason. Definitely not talked about enough if we’re being honest. After that though, things are all up in the air. St-Juste could absolutely play his way into a big role this offseason.

The cornerback looked fantastic, there really doesn’t seem to be anything negative anyone can say about him after the first game. It looks like Washington might have a very competitive secondary in 2021.

The two rookies are welcome additions to an already stacked defense. Obviously we already all know about the front seven. Chase Young is every bit the superstar that people expected, and Montez Sweat is an animal. Jonathan Allen and the rest of the defensive line are studs as well. The linebacker play and secondary weren’t perfect last year though. They needed to improve in coverage. And it looks like Washington has done just that with these two rookies.
