1. Will Justin Fields continue his good play with the starters?

Last week, Fields had the type of debut that raised hopes for him. Yes, he started out slowly. However, he picked it up and had a terrific third quarter with a touchdown both on the ground and in the air.

Additionally, Fields helped out the beat-up offensive line by moving the pocket. He made some great throws on the run and extended some plays by moving around. When needed, he took off and gained some yards. He was everything the Chicago Bears envisioned when they went after him in the draft.

The critics are quick to say that FIelds had a field day against third-string players who will see their careers end in a few weeks. That may be true, but Fields also had third-string teammates. He made those receivers look good.

With his play, Fields earned a chance to see snaps with the starters. That is exactly what will happen this week. Instead of throwing to receivers like Adams or Justin Hardy, or Jesse James, he’ll have the opportunity to throw to Allen Robinson, Darnell Mooney, and Cole Kmet.

Imagine if FIelds continues his success throwing to Robinson. Robinson has had success himself with quarterbacks like Trubisky and Blake Bortles throwing to him. In fact, even if Dalton starts the season as QB1, he’ll be the best quarterback to throw to him in his career. If Fields does well, he and Robinson could make a deadly duo.

Also, imagine FIelds making deep completions to speedy receivers like Mooney and Marquise Goodwin. The deep throw was one of the big failings Trubisky had in Chicago. Without keeping the defense honest with the deep threat, the receivers will always have a difficult time breaking free. If the defense has to account for a streaking player downfield, Robinson and the tight ends will have more room to operate. This just makes the offense run more efficiently.

If Fields looks as good with the starters as he did with the third-stringers, he could seriously make the Chicago Bears re-think their plan to sit him when the regular season begins.
