The team with the worst record in the league in 2020 has a first-time NFL head coach and a slew of new faces as the franchise looks to get back on track.

When it was all said and done, they proved to be nothing more than a one-hit wonder back in 2017. That season, the Jacksonville Jaguars won 10 games and its first division title since 1999. Add in postseason victories over the Bills and Steelers and that’s a dozen wins. The Jaguars found themselves in the AFC title game, squandering a 10-point fourth-quarter lead at New England.

Over the past three seasons, the Jacksonville Jaguars own a dismal 12-36 win-loss record. They opened this past season with a win over the Indianapolis Colts and failed to win another game. Head coach Doug Marrone was let go as head coach and college legend Urban Meyer is now at the controls.

As usual, the team was busy during free agency. And the club had a pair of first-round selections. Here are three players to keep an eye on as the team takes on the Saints at New Orleans.

Defense was a major issue for this team a season ago and has been for the past three years. In 2017, the Jaguars won the AFC South with a 10-6 record and would eventually reach the AFC title game on the strength of a big-play unit that could get after opposing quarterbacks and turn takeaways into immediate points.

The team has failed to recapture that defensive form. In 2020, Jacksonville allowed the second-most points and total yards in the league. The team finished 30th in the league against the run and there’s hope former Patriots’ first-round pick Malcom Brown, acquired from the Saints via trade, can shore up the middle of this unit.
