Previous: 14th. Arizona Cardinals. 14. team. 32. .

After knocking off Dallas the week prior, the Arizona Cardinals had to face the Kansas City Chiefs at home this weekend. They held former league MVP Patrick Mahomes to 10-of-18 passing and kept him from throwing a touchdown (and forced a pick), which should have been enough to win.

A huge reason for that was their inefficiency on offense when the first team played early on in the game. Kyler Murray was 1-of-4 in three series and never led his team to a first down. That’s not an ideal start by any means but again, with it being preseason, it’s not time to hit the panic button.

47. . . Previous: 15th. New England Patriots. 13. team

Bill Belichick went out and re-vamped his entire roster after the New England Patriots went 7-9 last season and missed the playoffs. He was on a mission to avoid another losing season and loaded up on free agents on both sides of the ball.

He also added a new quarterback in the first round, taking Mac Jones from Alabama. Jones has looked solid so far in the preseason and had 146 yards. He still has to unseat Cam Newton who was 8-of-9 with 103 yards and a touchdown. New England also had 207 yards and four touchdowns on the ground, continuing their dominance in that area this preseason.

But the real story was the defense. New England kept Philly from scoring any points at all, winning 35-0. Preseason or not, that’s something that will instill confidence.
