NFL Power Rankings, Preseason Week 2: Zach Wilson gives Jets hope

Every team has one primary goal when it comes to the preseason — stay healthy. For the Miami Dolphins, they ended up having a scare that made it seem for a brief second as though they weren’t accomplishing this goal.
Rookie wide receiver Jaylen Waddle suffered a leg injury and went under the blue medical tent. Thankfully, it wasn’t anything serious and he even went back in the game.
As for the rest of the team, Miami looked sound against the Falcons although Atlanta was playing their reserves. Still, every positive step is worth celebrating when you’re a team trying to break a playoff drought, which is what the Dolphins are right now.
Another team that hasn’t really shown much this preseason is the Seattle Seahawks. Of course, they’re an established team that’s set at all their main positions — quarterback, running back, wide receiver, etc. They simply don’t need to risk these guys to injury, especially players such as Chris Carson who was banged up in 2020.
That doesn’t mean there’s not a lot to gleam, and they’re using these games to see how to shake things up on defense. One player who stood out this week was Jordyn Brooks who was very active with seven tackles. Brooks was considered a reach in Round 1 last season, so using these snaps to improve could go a long way for him, and this team.
