Writing full, complete thoughts on J.J. Arcega-Whiteside is more challenging than I expected.

Sure, the Eagles spent some healthy draft capital on the long, lean Spanish machine. However, “J-JAW” will always be remembered as the guy who isn’t D.K. Metcalf, famously selected soon afterward by the Seattle Seahawks.

Let’s go to the film reel for a refresher on his most impressive accomplishments to date:

In recent seasons, the Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver position has been thinner than dental floss, but things are finally looking up in 2021. Last year’s Round 1 selection, Jalen Reagor, has shown signs of life this preseason, and this year’s top selection DeVonta Smith looked like the real deal in limited action, despite his surrounding cast of second and third-stringers.

Behind these two are Travis Fulgham, who showed more in five games than Arcega-Whiteside did in two years, and the unspectacular but steady veteran, Greg Ward. We think Fulgham, Ward, and preseason phenom Quez Watkins will make Arcega-Whiteside expendable.
