Fantasy Football Mock Draft 2021: Round 14

  • Team 12 (14.01): Younghoe Koo, K, ATL
  • Team 11 (14.02): Harrison Butker, K, KC
  • Team 10 (14.03): Tyler Bass, K, BUF
  • Team 9 (14.04): Hunter Henry, TE, NE
  • Team 8 (14.05): Ryan Succop, K, TB
  • Team 7 (14.06): Jason Sanders, K, MIA
  • Team 6 (14.07): Rodrigo Blankenship, K, IND
  • Team 5* (14.08): Matt Gay, K, LAR
  • Team 4 (14.09): Mason Crosby, K, GB
  • Team 3 (14.10): Matt Prater, K, ARZ
  • Team 2 (14.11): Greg Zuerlein, K, DAL
  • Team 1 (14.12): New England D/ST

In case you’re new here, my strategy will forever be to take kickers and defense in the final two rounds of any fantasy football draft. Both are so matchup dependent and, frankly, hard to predict that you’re better off waiting and getting other options at the other positions.

As my kicker, I went with Matt Gay. No, he’s not the most proven leg in the league, but he is the clear-cut guy for a Rams team that should have a prolific offense and be in position for at least three points quite often. That’s a path for Gay to help your fantasy team out in the margins.

Fantasy Football Mock Draft 2021: Round 15

  • Team 1 (15.01): Robbie Gould, K, SF
  • Team 2 (15.02): A.J. Green, WR, ARZ
  • Team 3 (15.03): Denver D/ST
  • Team 4 (15.04): Buffalo D/ST
  • Team 5* (15.05): LA Chargers D/ST
  • Team 6 (15.06): Jameis Winston, QB, NO
  • Team 7 (15.07): Rondale Moore, WR, ARZ
  • Team 8 (15.08): Trevor Lawrence, QB, JAX
  • Team 9 (15.09): Deshaun Watson, QB, HOU
  • Team 10 (15.10): Daniel Carlson, K, LVR
  • Team 11 (15.11): Cole Beasley, WR, BUF
  • Team 12 (15.12): Justin Jackson, RB, LAC

When selecting your defense/special teams, I’m not opposed to the idea of simply looking for the right matchup in Week 1 and then streaming from there on. However, the Chargers D/ST was the pick here simply because I believe this could be a dominant unit under new head coach Brandon Staley.

The Bolts have a boatload of talent defensively and now have a head coach primed to maximize that talent. All told, they could be a havoc-wreaking unit on all levels and a team that finishes as a top-five defense, if not better than that.
