  • Team 10 (2.03): Najee Harris, RB, PIT
  • Team 9 (2.04): DeAndre Hopkins, WR, ARZ
  • Team 8 (2.05): Antonio Gibson, RB, WFT
  • Team 7 (2.06): Joe Mixon, RB, CIN
  • Team 6 (2.07): Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, KC
  • Team 5* (2.08): Calvin Ridley, WR, ATL
  • Team 4 (2.09): D.K. Metcalf, WR, SEA
  • Team 3 (2.10): Darren Waller, TE, LVR
  • Team 2 (2.11): J.K. Dobbins, RB, BAL
  • Team 1 (2.12): Justin Jefferson, WR, MIN

(Note: This mock draft was compiled prior to the J.K. Dobbins injury in Week 3 of the preseason.)

Truth be told, I was hoping Washington running back Antonio Gibson was going to fall to 2.08 so I could nab him for this team. There is talk that he could have a Christian McCaffrey type role for the Football Team’s offense this season and that’s the type of upside you want from a player who looked awesome as a rookie and is going to have an increased workload no matter what.

Alas, he went off the board and the running back value was no longer there for me. You have to adapt in fantasy football and that’s what I did, pivoting to wide receivers and making sure that I was getting value. And being able to nab Calvin Ridley at this point of the draft is that.

Because he’s played with Julio Jones for so long, it feels like we overlook something like Ridley coming off a career year in which he had 1,374 yards and nine touchdowns on 90 receptions last season in only 15 games, finishing as the WR4 on a per-game scoring basis for 2020.

A big part of Ridley’s huge season was Jones dealing with injuries but now Ridley is the unquestioned top dog in the Falcons offense. He has a legitimate chance to finish as the best wide receiver in fantasy football this season, so getting him in the back-half of Round 2 is a steal.
