The final preseason game for the Arizona Cardinals was canceled due to a hurricane approaching New Orleans where they were set to play the Saints. It’s not the end of the world since they were pretty set on what they plan to do in Week 1 so they didn’t need to see much in the finale (although some bubble players would likely disagree).

This is a team that’s improved a lot over the past couple of seasons and they enter a crucial year for both head coach Kliff Kingsbury and quarterback Kyler Murray. The former No. 1 overall pick is just 13-18-1 as the starter (which is the same record as Kingsbury since they have been a duo since each of their pro careers started).

However, they did see a solid jump from 5-10-1 in 2019 to 8-8 last season and for a brief moment, they were in great shape to contend for the NFC West. They struggled down the stretch but still showed that they can compete with anyone in the league when they’re firing on all cylinders.

If they each can take their next step, this could be the start of something fun in the desert. If not, it could be another middle of the pack finish for the Red Birds — who have, unfortunately, had a lot of middle of the pack finishes.
