NFL Power Rankings, Week 1: Dolphins hurt by trade talk, Bears look foolish

Once again, it was the Nathan Peterman show for the Las Vegas Raiders. They continued to play only one quarterback for the entire game as Peterman started and finished all three games in the preseason for the Raiders.
He led them to a 20-7 win in Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks while throwing for 246 yards with no touchdowns and a pick. He followed that up with 172 yards passing and a 1-to-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio in their 17-16 win over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 2.
This weekend, they finally tasted preseason defeat when Peterman managed just 175 yards with a 1-to-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio as they lost 34-10 against the San Francisco 49ers in the finale.
Las Vegas will enter the season with Derek Carr as the starter and Marcus Mariota is going to be the second-string quarterback. Clearly, head coach Jon Gruden wanted to keep both of them healthy but not getting any reps for either seems like an odd strategy. Especially when you think that Peterman might not even make the final roster considering how he struggled in the preseason.
2021 will be a huge season for the Raiders. They have yet to finish with a winning record under Gruden and general manager Mike Mayock and they have made one questionable move after another. Head-scratching moves happen everywhere, but when wins aren’t following those moves, seats become very hot.
