The Chicago Bears officially announce their 53-man roster on Tuesday Here are predictions on who makes the team ahead of Week 1.

The Chicago Bears are almost at the start of the 2021 regular season. All the preseason games are over and training camp is done. The decisions on who makes the roster and who doesn’t are made. Whatever impression players wanted to make they either succeeded or not. There is nothing more to do but to wait now.

The Bears have until 4 PM Eastern today to announce the official roster. Dreams will either be realized or crushed by that time.

Making the roster isn’t the only thing some players want to experience. There are some who are a cinch to make the roster but they want a certain job. They dream of having a starting job or one of the main backups roles. They want to contribute as much as possible.

Until the Chicago Bears make their final announcement, here are my predictions for the 53-man roster. It’s always difficult to predict what the Bears will do, but we’ll try.

Chicago Bears Quarterbacks

QB1: Andy Dalton

Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy continually reiterated to anyone within earshot that Dalton would be the starter going into Week 1. It’s just that the fans and league analysts didn’t believe him. Even when Nagy said that, barring injury, he didn’t see rookie Justin Fields as the Week 1 starter, people thought he was kidding. Well, they all found out he was serious. Dalton is the starter. Now the question is for how long.

QB2: Justin Fields

Fields did his job. He went out and showed Nagy and the rest of the world that he’s ready for the bright lights. Yes, he has more to learn. However, he showed that when he makes mistakes he quickly corrects the situation. In the preseason, he used all his tools to impress everyone. He stood in the pocket and used his strong arm, he ran outside the pocket and threw darts on the run, and when he couldn’t throw, he used his legs to extend drives. He’ll be on the sidelines in the beginning but he won’t be there for too long.

QB3: Nick Foles

The Bears are listening to any offer for Foles. They aren’t in a hurry to deal him, however. They already stated that they won’t send him to a team he doesn’t want to play for. While many people expect Chicago to deal him before the season starts, it’s more likely that they’ll deal him by the trade deadline in November. Besides, he can do a good job of mentoring Fields. Anything the team can do to make life easier for Fields should be done.
