Chicago Bears Inside Linebackers

Starters: Roquan Smith, Danny Trevathan

Smith is looking to finally get the attention of the national audience. The Chicago Bears have a rich tradition of elite linebackers and Smith wants to be considered next in line. He sees all these other linebackers get attention while no one outside of Chicago notices him. He’s primed for a breakout season.

Trevathan had a slow start to the season last year but played much better as the season progressed. He finished the season with 113 tackles, the second-highest total of his career. He wants to continue the good play.

Backups: Alec Ogletree, Christian Jones, Josh Woods

The Bears hit it big with the addition of Ogletree. He came in after he signed and was an interception machine. He continues his good play in the preseason games as well.

Jones is a familiar face. He signed with the Bears as an undrafted rookie in 2014. He spent the last three seasons with the Detroit Lions. When the Lions released him the Bears quickly picked him up.

Woods returns for his third season with Chicago. He provides good depth and is a special teams specialist.
