Dallas Cowboys breakout player No. 2: Randy Gregory, EDGE

Even if he doesn’t become a star player, Randy Gregory is already a winner.

The 2015 second-round pick has been able to shake off some demons and get himself back on the field for Dallas and the growth he has already shown is impressive.

As stated by Todd Archer from ESPN, Gregory has gone from someone who missed 54 games due to suspension to a “leader on their player’s council.” Archer also had a quote from fellow defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence that shows how much respect Gregory has earned from those around him ‚— and it also details how much he has grown as a player.

"“Just to be able to see him grow mentally and physically, it’s like watching [Milwaukee Bucks’] Giannis Antetokounmpo grow,” said Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, who, as a second-round pick in 2014, is the longest-tenured defensive player. “Going through those phases, but just to see him also taking care of his off-the-field issues and being more in sync to what he wants out here, it’s a blessing, and I know being able to have him back and me back, it’ll complement me so well.” — Todd Archer from ESPN quoting Lawrence’s take on his teammate"

The talent has always been there for Gregory but he hasn’t been able to get out of his own way, until now. With all the reports around him being positive this past season, it’s clear that this young man is on the verge of truly breaking out.
