17. New Orleans Saints: Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State

Garrett Wilson just continues to do good things on the football field. The Ohio State wideout had 723 yards and six touchdowns in 2020 and started out 2021 with a solid 80 yards on five receptions against Minnesota.

He does still need to refine his route-running but all the tools are there for him to be great. He can run past anyone and has no problem coming down with contested passes. In this mock, he lands with the New Orleans Saints who absolutely love taking players out of Ohio State.

New Orleans will also really appreciate the 16-yards per reception average that Wilson boasts — especially now that Jameis Winston has been named the starter. Winston will air the ball out deep more than most quarterbacks and the Saints could use more players capable of stretching the field for him.

They could also use a new potential No. 1 wide receiver since things have apparently been breaking down with current star receiver Michael Thomas. We don’t know everything that has gone on there but it sure seems Thomas is unhappy and if that ends in separation, then New Orleans would be happy to land Wilson. If not, they can still use him as a No. 2 receiver, which would give them a legit receiving corps.
