2022 NFL Mock Draft: Malik Willis in the top 5, Cowboys get elite EDGE
By Randy Gurzi
21. Los Angeles Chargers: Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State
This season, Chris Olave nearly entered the NFL Draft but he elected to return to the Ohio State Buckeyes for one more season. Had he entered the draft, he might have been in consideration for Round 1, but most likely would have been a day two pick.
His decision to return could have a great impact on his standing since it will give him another season to show how much he has grown. Listed at 6-foot-1 and 189-pounds, Olave had his best campaign in 2020 when he went off collecting 50 receptions for 729 yards and seven touchdowns in only seven games.
Olave wins his matchups with his insane route-running skills and while he has the ability to develop into a No. 1 threat at some point in his career, he would be in a great position to succeed with a team such as the Los Angeles Chargers.,
Playing in L.A. would not only give him a stud quarterback to work with as Justin Herbert is becoming a star in this league, but he would also have one of the more underrated No. 1 receivers in the game across from him in Keenan Allen. The two would be a dangerous duo and when Allen (who will be 30 in 2022) is ready to move on, Olave can step into his role.
