29. Buffalo Bills: Trent McDuffie, CB, Washington

Brandon Beane has done a great job as the general manager of the Buffalo Bills and Sean McDermott has proven to be the right coach for them as well. For the past couple of seasons, we have seen them building this roster up and they’ve been working to develop their young quarterback Josh Allen.

That all came to a head in 2020 when Allen had an MVP-caliber season and even led the Bills to an AFC East title. Many people want to attribute this to the departure of Tom Brady which took New England out of the running but even if Brady had stayed with the Patriots, the Bills may have given them a run for their money.

Having said all that, the brass in Western New York isn’t exactly satisfied. They want more than just winning their division and getting to the AFC Championship Game. That’s their goal and they continue to build their roster with that in mind as they take Trent McDuffie from Washington with their first-round pick.

Buffalo has a good defense but they are trying to become dominant. They’ve used a lot of early draft picks on that side of the ball with Gregory Rousseau, Ed Oliver, and A.J. Epenesa being added to beef up the front line.

Now, they get better on the back end by pairing McDuffie with Tre’Davious White. This could be what they need to keep teams such as the Chiefs from putting the big games (such as the AFC title game) out of reach.
