2022 NFL Mock Draft: Malik Willis in the top 5, Cowboys get elite EDGE
By Randy Gurzi
31. Kansas City Chiefs: Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State
What’s really kind of interesting to think about is how much talent the Kansas City Chiefs really have on offense. Yes, they have Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce who are elite, that’s for sure. But outside of that, there are a lot of players who simply do their job well, but they don’t have transcendent stars to work with.
That’s a huge testament to just how good Patrick Mahomes is. He makes everyone around him better. Hill and Kelce become unstoppable and the rest of the supporting cast looks great — even if their individual talent doesn’t suggest they should be.
That’s not meant at all to knock any of the players because Andy Reid and the staff in Kansas City just know how to put the right pieces together and this team works. But what if they started to get even more dangerous pass-catchers out there for Mahomes?
With that being the goal, the Chiefs use their first-round pick in this mock on Penn State receiver Jahan Dotson who can be a dynamic playmaker. Like Hill, he’s undersized at 5-11 and 184-pounds, but he averages more than 17-yards per catch and would really help open up this offense even more. That’s a scary thought.
