NFL Win Total Predictions: NFC East

Dallas Cowboys: 9.5 wins – Over

Starting off the season with All-Pro guard Zack Martin out with COVID isn’t the best look for the Cowboys but, if we’re being honest, they’re going to lose to the defending champion Bucs in Week 1 regardless of who’s on the field.

With that said, this offense is good enough to put up points on anyone and I’m a believer in Dan Quinn at least making this defense passable, which is an upgrade from the dumpster fire they were a year ago. That alone will easily carry them to 10 or more wins.

New York Giants: 7.5 wins – Under

Few teams made as many aggressive moves to improve their offense this season than the Giants as they not only signed Kenny Golladay to a monster free agency deal but took Kadarius Toney in the first round. But the problem with that — even with Saquon Barkley returning to the fold — is that Daniel Jones is still the quarterback. He’s not the guy and that’s going to be painfully obvious when the Giants don’t sniff the eight wins needed to hit this over.

Philadelphia Eagles: 6.5 wins – Under

Full disclosure, it’s hard to know what to make of the Eagles, especially considering that they’re starting Jalen Hurts at quarterback, a player who started four games last year and flashed but is far from proven.

With an offensive line that, overall, doesn’t inspire confidence and a defense that has been largely gutted due to the need to get under the salary cap, I lean towards a rough, rough season for the Eagles. The good news for Philly fans is that I have them finishing better than the Giants, so at least there’s that.

Washington Football Team: 8.5 wins – Over

Some people are ready to hammer the over for Washington and have them winning the NFC East. There’s no doubt that this is the best defense in the division and the offense could be better with Ryan Fitzpatrick and more weapons.

With that being said, this offensive line is mediocre at best and the secondary doesn’t jump off the page either. Most importantly, though, the excitement FitzMagic can provide overshadows the fact that he’s been erratic in his career as a full-time starter. Take the over but don’t think you won’t be sweating it out at season’s end.
