DeAndre Hopkins wasted no time providing another insane highlight touchdown grab that gave the Cardinals their first trip to the end zone in 2021.

In his first year with the Arizona Cardinals, there was no shortage of wild touchdowns for wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, most notably the Hail Murray that was arguably the play of the 2020 NFL season. So it shouldn’t be shocking that he was back at it quickly to start this year.

Playing in Tennessee for Week 1, the Cardinals recovered a fumble deep in Titans territory but penalties pushed them back to the 5-yard line for third-and-goal. And when you need a red-zone play to be made, Hopkins is as good as any target to look for.

Escaping pressure from Harold Landry, Kyler Murray scrambled to his right to buy time and threw a dart to the back of the end zone. Hopkins went up over the Titans secondary and made a great catch but even more impressive was getting his feet down in bounds from a tough angle to secure the six points.

There are fewer than 10 wide receivers in the NFL that can make that play — and even that might be underselling how impressive of a catch that is. DeAndre Hopkins is just on another level and continues to state his case for being the best wide receiver in the league.

Hats off to Murray for that throw, though. His ability to get away from pressure like that and still deliver a throw where only his man can get it is possibly his greatest asset as a young quarterback.

That touchdown gave the Cardinals an early 10-0 lead over the Titans, which is huge for a road team trying to pick up an early win in a tough NFC West. And it feels safe to say that’s not the last wild DeAndre Hopkins touchdown we’ll see this season.
