AFC South odds for 2021 NFL season

  • Tennesee Titans: -160
  • Indianapolis Colts: +185
  • Jacksonville Jaguars: +700
  • Houston Texans: +3000

Best non-favorite pick to win: Indianapolis Colts +185

No division is messier than the AFC South coming into the 2021 season. Outside of the favored Titans, there’s drama all around.

Jacksonville may have a bright future ahead with Trevor Lawrence but they aren’t a serious threat. Their offensive line needs an overhaul and the defense needs work as well. Then there’s the Texans, embroiled in the Deshaun Watson off-field scandal and moving forward seemingly without the quarterback. And that’s not to mention the widescale roster issues caused by the Bill O’Brien tenure.

In the case of the Colts, it’s not so much drama that has been surrounding them as it is injury luck. Indianapolis trade for Carson Wentz this offseason to reunite him with Frank Reich. However, he went down with an injury in the preseason and, though he’s set to play in Week 1, there are still concerns about how ready he’ll be.

Even with the Wentz question, the Colts have a solid overall roster, bolstered by one of the best offensive lines in the league. Moreover, the addition of Kwity Paye this offseason in the draft should help make their pass rush even fiercer than it has been.

Indianapolis will need things to break their way if they’re going to win the division but they have a good enough roster to be respectable at the very least.
