The New Orleans Saints looked great in the debut game for Jameis Winston as they beat the Packers to move up in our 2021 NFL Power Rankings

Week 1 of the 2021 NFL season is in the books, which means it’s time for our first 2021 NFL Power Rankings.

Every year, we get some surprise games that shake things up for us and that happened for sure in Week 1. The biggest of which came down in New Orleans, where the Saints made the Green Bay Packers look out-matched.

Jameis Winston, in his debut for New Orleans, was out there eating the cheese during the game with five touchdowns, then eating ‘Ws” afterward.

That game and more made this a wild weekend of NFL action, which ended with Matthew Stafford showing off his skill on Sunday Night Football in his L.A. debut.

Let’s jump right in and see how it all played out with our 2021 NFL Power Rankings.

Reports surfaced before the Jacksonville Jaguars took the field on Sunday that head coach Urban Meyer was already losing the locker room. To have the roster give up on you before you even call a regular season play has to be some kind of record.

Even Chip Kelly took longer to lose his locker room, but then again, he had those killer smoothies on his side that healed torn ACLs and mended bones.

And for anyone who wanted to say those reports were unfounded, all they needed to do was watch the Jaguars play on Sunday. In what seemed like a good game to test their team out, since they were playing the Houston Texans who were considered the worst team in the league, Jacksonville was run out of the building.

Houston was up 27-7 going to the break and Trevor Lawrence had two first half picks. Meyer also seemed hesitant to get the best personnel on the field, with James Robinson spending a lot of time on the bench behind Carlos Hyde — and no offense to Hyde, but it’s easy to see which of the two gives them the best shot to win.

The Jags play at home next week against Denver, and perhaps having their fans cheering them on will help turn things around because this was a bad start for them.
