NFL Power Rankings, Week 2: Saints blow by Packers, Kyler and Cardinals shine
By Randy Gurzi
Remember when outside linebacker Chandler Jones was asking for more money? Well, the Arizona Cardinals might be more inclined to listen to him after what he did on the field during their first game of the season this Sunday. Jones put up three sacks in the first 15 minutes of the game, which set the tone as the Cards shocked the Tennessee Titans.
Jones finished with five sacks and set the tone for the Arizona defense as they made life miserable for the Tennessee offense. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill was never comfortable in the pocket and had multiple turnovers. Even running back Derrick Henry looked human.
As for the Cardinals offense. Kyler Murray put on a show. He had four touchdown passes as well as a touchdown on the ground. He hit both DeAndre Hopkins and Christian Kirk on multiple touchdown passes as well during the game.
When Kliff Kingsbury first took over as the head coach, he made a huge gamble when he took Murray first overall despite there being concerns about his size. On top of that, the front office had just moved up for Josh Rosen the prior season, but Kingsbury knew who he wanted and after making strides in 2020, they now seem ready to make some noise in 2021.
