DraftKings NFL picks Week 2: Wide Receiver
DeAndre Hopkins ($8,000) balled out last week and a matchup against the Vikings doesn’t lead me to believe anything else about him this week. But speaking of Hopkins, you have to like D.K. Metcalf ($7,600) and Tyler Lockett ($7,200) against the Titans defense that had so much trouble slowing down Nuk last week.
Though Stefon Diggs ($7,700) is a star, I don’t trust him against the Dolphins secondary, much like I don’t trust Calvin Ridley ($7,500) or the Falcons offense against the Buccaneers. Though Arizona’s defense could cause problems for the Vikings, I still think Justin Jefferson ($7,400) and Adam Thielen ($7,100) could end up with big performances thanks to a pass-heavy approach late.
With pass-heavy in mind, how do you not like Keenan Allen ($7,000) at this price on DraftKings? He’s going to attack, attack, attack the Cowboys defense from the slot, a place they were routinely burned last week. In the same game, Amari Cooper ($6,800) was a monster last week and should continue to rack up targets in this prolific offense.
Deebo Samuel ($6,700) is intriguing with how much he was used last week and could be a pretty good value, as could Diontae Johnson ($6,400) against a bad Raiders secondary. But at the same price, getting CeeDee Lamb ($6,400) is the better value as he will gobble up looks with Michael Gallup out of the lineup. The same could be true for the Browns with Jarvis Landry ($6,300) now that OBJ is out.
I’m fading Allen Robinson ($6,200) along with most of the Buccaneers passing game above $6,000 in pricing. With that said, I am intrigued by Mike Williams ($6,100) in a likely shootout, but would likely rather pay a bit less for Cooper Kupp ($6,000) and Robert Woods ($5,700) in the potent Rams offense or Antonio Brown($6,000) as the third option with the most upside for the Bucs offense.
As we get into value plays, DeVonta Smith ($5,400) has my eye as the 49ers secondary is thin and unproven right now. Tee Higgins ($5,400) has some value but he’s essentially on-par with Ja’Marr Chase ($5,000) for me in projections, which means I’d rather have the cheaper player.
Don’t overlook Marvin Jones Jr. ($4,700) or Jaylen Waddle ($4,500) whose prices didn’t move after sizable target shares in Week 1 and in decent matchups this week. Moreover, Zach Pascal ($4,400) could be a value with the Colts receiving corps banged up. And finally, fliers on K.J. Hamler ($3,800), Van Jefferson Jr. ($3,500), Anthony Schwartz ($3,300) and Cedrick Wilson ($3,100) are potential deep values.
