Cleveland Browns Week 2 Dud: Donovan Peoples-Jones, WR

In a game where Jarvis Landry was forced out due to injury and Odell Beckham Jr. was inactive, you would’ve thought that Donovan Peoples-Jones, a player who flashed huge potential at the end of last year, would be able to come up with a big game. Instead, he was actually a negative asset for the Browns offense on the day.

DPJ finished the game with one catch on as many targets for 14 yards. However, he put the ball on the turf with the run after the catch on that play and Houston recovered. Ball security has been an issue talked about with Peoples-Jones to this point and, though he has clear talent, he has to shore up the finer fundamentals of his game to take on a bigger role.

Cleveland Browns Week 2 Stud: Demetric Felton, RB/WR

As mentioned, Landry going out combined with Beckham still being sidelined required someone to step up in the passing game. Though there was no volume, rookie Demetric Felton came up and delivered a strong performance with the touches he got as he finished with 51 yards and a touchdown on two receptions.

Not only is that one of the best runs after the catch you’re going to see this year but it was at a huge moment for Cleveland tied in the third quarter.

Though Landry and OBJ should be back in the fold at some point (hopefully soon), we could see the ultra-versatile rookie used more often and in a variety of ways to add another dimension and element to the Browns offense.
