Cleveland Browns Week 2 Stud: Nick Chubb, RB

There are rightful questions about how Nick Chubb was used against Houston as he was out-carried by Kareem Hunt and had only 11 carries and one target on the day. But when he got the ball, Chubb continued to showcase that he might be the best running back in the NFL.

Not only did Chubb finish with 95 yards on his 11 totes for the day, he was clutch when it mattered. As the Texans were trying to keep in the game, Chubb reeled off two big carries for the Browns, including a 26-yarder for a touchdown that ultimately sealed the victory.

Now, let’s just try to get him involved more often.

Cleveland Browns Week 2 Dud: Jadeveon Clowney, EDGE

Some people are going to point to Myles Garrett as a problem for the Browns in this game as he was “shut down”. But as it turns out, it’s pretty easy to shut down a player even of Garrett’s caliber when he can be double-teamed on almost every snap. And that comes back to the rest of the line struggling to make an impact, none more evident than newcomer Jadeveon Clowney.

On too many occasions, Clowney allowed quarterback scrambles for big yardage or just open plays on his size because he pushed too far up the field and left areas open. For a player who should be a valuable veteran presence on the edge, he was harmful to the Browns’ cause on Sunday.
