The tailgating started the night before as Cleveland Browns fans were more than a little excited to be able to pack First Energy Stadium once again. And head coach Kevin Stefanski asked the fans to make sure they were there for the kickoff to support their team, and they sure listened to that.

As per usual, the Dawg Pound was rocking and they didn’t let a slow start deter them. The Browns fell behind 14-7 as former Cleveland quarterback Tyrod Taylor threw a touchdown and ran one in. But Baker Mayfield shook off a shoulder injury and ran in a touchdown to tie it up at 14 before the break.

In the second half, Taylor had to sit out as Davis Mills struggled while Cleveland continued to eat up the clock with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. In all, they had 156 yards rushing and had touchdowns on the ground from Mayfield, Chubb, and fullback Andy Janovich.

Cleveland ended up winning 31-21 and while that’s a lot closer than they expected it to be, they still got the win and are tied for first place at 1-1 after Cincinnati and Pittsburgh both lost this week. They have a tough task ahead of them with Chicago on the schedule next but this team is talented and if they can get this defense figured out, they could be dangerous.
