Plays on Monday Night Football vs. Green Bay Packers

In Week 1, the Detroit Lions looked both awful and amazing. Detroit fell behind 38-10 against the San Franciso 49ers, but then made it a game as they outscored the Niners 23-11 from that point.

Thanks to a few lucky breaks, including a surprising fumble from Deebo Samuel, the Lions were able to not only pull within eight but also had the ball back with a chance to tie. They were unable to finish that final drive but their 41-33 loss showed they have more heart than expected.

Now, they hit the road for the first time this season and they face a team that should be heavily favored in the Green Bay Packers. Having said that, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers looked nothing like the team we’re used to seeing. That could have been Week 1 rust but it also could be a lingering issue from all the offseason drama with Rodgers.

Either way, the Lions have a huge opportunity in front of them. If they can play the way they did in the second half against San Francisco — and if the Packers are still not looking like themselves — they could steal a road win.

Even with all that being said, it’s a tough ask, and Green Bay will likely be laser-focused after being embarrassed by New Orleans a week ago.
