They might have lost, but the Houston Texans showed a ton of heart in their Week 2 game against the Cleveland Browns. The fans were going nuts after being able to pack First Energy Stadium again and that should have given the Browns a ton of motivation in this one.

You wouldn’t have known it based on how Houston came out and played. After giving up a touchdown to fullback Andy Janovich, the Texans scored twice in a row with Phillip Lindsay scoring on a 22-yard pass from Tyrod Taylor. Taylor then ran it in from 15-yards, scoring on his old team and making it 14-7.

However, Taylor was lost to a hamstring injury and that led to the Browns taking things over. Davis Mills had a few decent throws but he finished 8-of-18 for 102 yards with a touchdown and a pick but he wasn’t anywhere near as good as Taylor — who was 10-11 for 125 yards in the first half.

As long as Taylor is on the field, their offense looks decent. And despite giving up 31 points in this game, the defense looked much better than expected as they made the Browns work hard for everything they got. Even with all that being said, they don’t feel like contenders but 1-1 is a decent start.
