Tom Brady is 44 years old and is still setting personal records for touchdowns, so good luck trying to stop the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this season.

Super Bowl banner hung and the band back together, Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers moved to 2-0 on the young 2021 NFL season on Sunday with a 48-25 win over the NFC South rival Falcons. The game was close for a moment but the defending champions, anchored by their future Hall-of-Fame quarterback, pulled away in the late moments.

Brady finished the game with another dominant outing, going 24-of-36 for 276 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions. He faced a porous Falcons secondary and picked them apart, utilizing the full arsenal of weapons in Tampa Bay.

But even crazier is that Tom Brady, the 44-year-old quarterback who has been in the NFL for more than two decades now and is set to own every page of the record books, set a personal record with his performance against Atlanta combined with the Week 1 win over Dallas.

Through two games, Brady now has nine touchdown passes on the 2021 season. That is a career-best over the first two outings of the year, bettering his previous mark of seven touchdowns. Somehow, the greatest of all time is getting better in his mid-40s.

It’s looking near impossible to stop Tom Brady and the Buccaneers offense.

For much of last season, Brady’s first in Tampa Bay, the offense was very much stop-and-go. It was clear that the shortened offseason hindered the quarterback’s ability to fully integrate himself into the ultra-talented Buccaneers offense. But as the playoffs will tell you, he and his cohorts hit their stride down the stretch and were an absolute force up until they hoisted the Lombardi Trophy.

Through two games, we’re seeing a continuation of that. Tom Brady is not necessarily getting better himself but he’s fully in-sync with Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, Antonio Brown and, of course, a resurgent Rob Gronkowski. And as that’s the case, it’s going to be difficult for anyone to slow down this attack.

Now, it should be said that Brady has faced two defenses in the Cowboys and Falcons that are subpar in the secondary. That certainly attributed to the quarterback setting a career-high for touchdowns through two games.

With that being said, though, the 44-year-old is laser-focused and has everything cooking with the players around him. We all figured that, if he didn’t finally succumb to Father Time, Tom Brady and the Buccaneers would be on track to compete for another Super Bowl. And him breaking personal bests through two games only furthers that belief.
