4. Mac Jones finds his groove with first multi-touchdown game

Mac Jones has been good but certainly nothing more for his first two NFL games. The Patriots rookie quarterback has completed 51-of-69 passes for 467 yards and a touchdown. You like the efficiency and the lack of turnovers but New England hasn’t taken the training wheels off totally. He’s throwing short almost exclusively and they’re not relying on Jones in the red zone.

New Orleans’ defense is solid but is also a bit thin in the secondary right now. More importantly, there is going to be a time when Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels deliver a shock and open up the offense a bit more. That will be this week as the Patriots let Jones take a few more shots and work in the red zone. The result will be the first multi-touchdown game of his career.

3. Austin Ekeler hits 200 total yards against Chiefs defense

For as good as we know the Chiefs are, their run defense has been an absolute problem in their first two outings of the year. Kansas City has allowed a shocking 202 yards per game on the ground, which is wild when you consider how good their offense is. Now, playing the Browns and Ravens, arguably the two best running teams in the league, plays into that.

That said, it’s still an issue for this defense with how they’re built right now. And that will show up on Sunday again as they have to defend Austin Ekeler. Though the Chargers running back has been a tad nicked up, we know just how talented and explosive he can be. He’ll put that on full display against the Chiefs, working in both the run and short-passing games and eclipsing the 200-yard mark.
