The New York Jets get the superstar edge rusher they’ve lacked forever while the Philadelphia Eagles go defense on repeat in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft

As we move into the third week of the 2021 NFL Season, we start to get a clearer picture of what to expect from every team — which helps us as we again look ahead to the draft with this 2022 NFL Mock Draft. While it’s true there’s a long way to go still, we also know where teams need to continue to add depth and talent to their respective rosters.

That’s why we continue to enjoy this season while still keeping an eye on the future with another mock draft. This time, we find the Jaguars building up their line to support Trevor Lawrence which leads to Spencer Rattler sliding out of the first spot.

With that all being said, let’s dive in with the Jags on the clock at No. 1.

Note: The order in this draft is determined by the latest NFL Spin Zone Power Rankings.

1. Jacksonville Jaguars: Evan Neal, OT, Alabama

Through two weeks, the Jacksonville Jaguars find themselves in a tough spot. They’ve lost each of their games and they haven’t looked remotely competitive in either.

Part of the blame falls on Urban Meyer who hasn’t been well-received by the team in his first season as the head coach. There are also countless reports that he could be one and done with the team which will only hurt him more as he seeks to gain the trust of his players.

As alarming as all that is, what’s worse is how much Trevor Lawrence has struggled. The No. 1 overall pick from Clemson isn’t used to losing and so far, he’s been tasting that in the NFL — and there’s no signs that it will slow down anytime soon.

What would really help him is improved blocking from the line. There are some decent weapons around him with D.J. Chark and Laviska Shenault among them but he can’t get through his reads. That’s why the No. 1 pick in this mock lands them Evan Neal from Alabama.

Neal is absolutely massive at 6-foot-7 and 351-pounds but what really makes him worthy of this pick is the freakish athleticism he possesses for such a large human. He will be a stone wall in the NFL as the Jags now have the two most important offensive pieces figured out.
