DraftKings NFL Week 3 lineup picks: Running Backs

It’s hard to ever go wrong with Derrick Henry ($8,600) after he went through the Seahawks like a hot knife through butter and now faces a banged-up Colts defense and team as a whole. I prefer him to Dalvin Cook ($8,400) whose status is questionable for NFL Week 3 and could be lost in a pass-happy game. Alexander Mattison ($6,000) becomes a huge add if Cook is ruled out.

There’s no way you can trust Alvin Kamara ($8,200) with the way the Saints offense has looked but you can trust the likes of Nick Chubb ($7,600) and Austin Ekeler ($7,200) with the talent and potential to be in huge spots to move the ball quite a bit. I prefer the latter not just because he’s cheaper but also because Kansas City has been gashed on the ground thus far.

With Carson Wentz either hobbled or out, some like Jonathan Taylor ($6,700) but I would pivot from that as Tennessee can hone in on stopping the back. I’m also fading Najee Harris ($6,600) despite a solid matchup and Saquon Barkley ($6,500) in a better matchup just because you can’t trust either of those offenses at this point. Chris Carson ($6,400) is far more intriguing as, if the Seahawks get up on Minnesota quickly, he could be the ice man and find a ton of work.

Monitor the status of Darrell Henderson Jr. ($5,900) because his passing game usage could be valuable against Tampa but Sony Michel ($4,900) is a fade even at that price if Henderson can’t go. Ty’Son Williams ($5,800) could be huge for the Ravens as they salt away a surefire blowout over the Lions. For that same reason, I prefer Javonte Williams ($4,900) to Melvin Gordon III ($5,500) for Broncos running backs.

For value plays outside of Williams, we could see Mike Davis ($5,100) attack the Giants and James White ($4,900) has huge PPR upside, as does Nyheim Hines ($4,600). And there could be a massive breakout from Michael Carter ($4,600) for the Jets, but there is also far more risk involved there.
