FanDuel NFL Week 3 picks and lineup advice: Running Back

Derrick Henry ($9,700) and Dalvin Cook ($9,500) are by far the two most expensive plays on the week. I would highly recommend trying to get one of these two in as many lineups as you can, as the rest of the expensive running backs either have tough matchups or are a little too expensive for their potential.

My favorite plays at the running back position this week are Jonathan Taylor ($7,000) and Austin Ekeler ($7,000). Both of these players have solid matchups and will have to be utilized heavily in both the rushing and the passing game. Taylor may lose some work to Nyheim Hines ($5,200), who is not a bad play himself, though with Jacob Eason likely at quarterback, Taylor should see more than enough touches to pay off his price.

There are a few running backs that carry plenty of risk, but have tournament-winning upside at their price points. Antonio Gibson ($6,100) and Saquon Barkley ($6,000) are both incredibly cheap for the potential they possess but have already shown that they can put up duds this year. For that reason, I will be avoiding them in cash formats, but playing them heavily in tournaments.

Finally, if you want a super cheap running back or flex the aforementioned Nyheim Hines ($5,200) is a solid pick. Similarly, James White ($5,400) has solidified himself as the primary pass-catching back in New England as he does almost every year. With twelve receptions through the first two games, White offers a safe enough floor if you want to ensure your cheap player does not put up a zero spot. Additionally, if Dalvin Cook were to miss, Alexander Mattison ($5,200) should be played in almost every lineup.
