Hey, there’s the Josh Allen we saw last year. I was wondering where he’d gone.

It felt as if not enough people were discussing the fact that the Bills quarterback, who the franchise just paid handsomely coming into the year with a new extension, had not been the MVP candidate we saw in 2020 for the first two games of the year. Against Washington, though, the switch flipped.

Allen was unstoppable on Sunday as he went 32-of-43 for 358 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions to go with another score using his legs. And it wasn’t just the stats, he was in full control, spreading the ball around to Cole Beasley, Emmanuel Sanders, Stefon Diggs and everyone throughout the day.

If that wasn’t enough, Zack Moss gave the Bills some life to salt away a big 43-21 win with ease on the ground and the defense completely stifled Washington for much of the day outside of a handful of explosive plays.

Despite some worrisome performances from Allen early on, the Bills are still 2-1 and now it appears their quarterback has found his form again. If that’s the case, we could see Buffalo really take off from here on out.
