Seattle Seahawks (1-2) at San Francisco 49ers (2-1)

Sunday, October 3, 4:05PM PT

Here’s your upset of the week, although it’s a minor one. Despite the 49ers sitting at 2-1 and having just barely been edged for that solo loss as time expired, I don’t have confidence in this team’s longevity. They’re too bruised and beaten to keep churning out wins.

It’s not just that, though. In my opinion, the Seattle Seahawks haven’t lived up to their potential this season. They’re easily one of the best NFC teams on paper and will fix their defense sooner rather than later. When that happens, Russell Wilson is going to have even more opportunities to shred opposing secondaries.

The Seattle D may flip that switch in Week 4 when they go head-to-head with an overrated, injury-riddled San Francisco offense. They’ll find a way to make Jimmy Garoppolo uncomfortable, and keep the 49ers’ third- or fourth-string running back from doing too much damage.

I’m not completely counting out the 49ers this season, but I believe the bandwagon is getting busier than it should be. The Seahawks take their West Coast foes down a notch, handling them a painful loss while getting themselves back on track with a much-needed win.

Prediction: Seahawks win 34-29 | Spread: 49ers (-2.5)
