New York Giants (0-3) at New Orleans Saints (2-1)

Sunday, October 3, 1PM PT

Despite their best efforts, the New York Giants continue to fall just short. They now sit at 0-3 and face a daunting matchup against a quality Saints team that’s relied heavily on its defense to win games so far this season.

That may not bode well for this Giants squad that can’t seem to gain traction. Sure, Daniel Jones has played well at times in 2021 and Saquon Barkley is slowing working his way back into the mix. However, the New York offense as a whole has underwhelmed, and their defense isn’t doing enough to tilt these close games in their favor.

While the Saints haven’t been perfect either, they’re  playing better on both sides of the ball. Despite his inconsistency, Jameis Winston has kept the offense rolling — for the most part. More importantly, the New Orleans defense is getting the job done, already looking like one of the best units in the league.

Jones will make some solid plays, and Winston may make a mistake or two that allows the Giants to stay in this one. When all is said and done, though, I’m expecting the Saints to have the lead when the final whistle blows.

Prediction: Saints win 23-17 | Spread: Saints (-7.5)
